The CRAZY world that I live in!

SOOOO Busy. No excuse here for not writing. Just training and working. Putting in my normal 6.5-7 hours of sleep (if I can stick with my 10pm bedtime) and working like crazy. I'm really getting busy with the nutrition consultations and helping people around the area and on BeginnerTriathlete.com is so rewarding. Also putting together a weekend clinic for the USAT Florida Region at the end of July has kept me a bit busy. Oh-and I'm moving to Dunedin tomorrow!!! Yippeeee
The kona training is going really well. No injuries and really pushing myself to the max. Last weekend was a killer. Of course I decided to start of my season with a run with Hurricane Barry and I completed 13 miles in the crazy rain and wind on saturday morning. Three things were going through my head: 1) My competitors are probably sleeping right now 2) I will probably race atleast 1 race in the pouring rain or extreme wind 3) This is really cool and I bet the drivers out there think I'm crazy! It was a lot of fun and I just kept laughing at myself (which I do when I am training in bad, but safe, conditions).
Sunday was a tough day. 3 hour bike ride followed by a 30 minute run. The bike was tough since I did a HUGE interval set. 11 miles at 75%, 9 miles at 75%, 9 miles at 85%, 5 miles at 90%. OUCH! Monday was a well-needed recovery spin and Tuesday I had a great swim/run practice.Coach Matt has been telling me to push harder during swimming and I just can't seem to get that little umph and build up the lactate like I did when I was swimming competitively in college. Well, I showed Matt on Tues how much I want to race 10:30 at Kona. Main set with fins was 8 x 125 on 1:40, 5 x 100 on 2 minutes, 5 x 100 on 1:45, 5 x 100 1:10!!!! Was he crazy. Well, I did make some of them, coming in at 1:04. Didn't make the last two and I wanted to puke after the set! What a killer workout!
After the swim was my normal interval run on the pinellas trail. Did I ever run hard! 1 hour and 10 minute run with 2 sets of the following hard at 75% - 5 minutes hard, 2 minutes easy, 4 minutes hard, 4 minutes easy.
Tues afternoon I did my recovery spin on the bike. Around 40 miles and felt just great. Wed I had to miss the afternoon ride with the Gearlink guys cause I was super busy all day and needed to work on the Vegas presentation.
Leaving on Sunday for vegas! I hope I win big with the $5 I am spending there!!!
Have a great weekend everyone. Stay safe and train hard..and have fun!
